The Hamilton Beach Bowl Scraper Food Processor eliminates the need to stop and remove the lid to dislodge food from the side of the bowl, thanks to its built-in scraper that does the work for you, even while the processor is in use for continuous processing. To ensure a more uniform consistency, it's recommended to start with food pieces of similar size and cut them into 1-inch (2.5-cm) pieces before processing with the chopping/mixing blade, leaving room in the bowl for the food to be tossed around. Pulsing the processor on and off will produce the best results when chopping foods.
The processing time required will depend on the quantity of food being processed, but most foods can be sliced, chopped, or shredded in just a few seconds. For slicing or shredding cheese, it's advised to use firm cheeses like Cheddar or Swiss that have been chilled for at least 30 minutes. Soft cheeses like Mozzarella should be placed in the freezer for 30 minutes prior to processing to ensure they are firm enough for shredding. All removable parts of the food processor are top rack dishwasher safe.
The bowl scraper attachment is a special feature that scrapes the sides of the bowl to keep ingredients close to the blades, resulting in more even processing and saving you time when chopping or pureeing, without the need to stop and remove the lid to use a spatula.
